Rumi: Turning
Ecstatic
Tina Petrova, long time friend of Threshold Society, has recently
completed a one-hour documentary, Rumi: Turning Ecstatic,
co-produced by Canada 's Vision TV. We're very happy to say that
it has realized our hopes for a film that will convey the beauty,
spirit, and depth of Mevlana, bringing some healing to this divided
world. The movie was premiered in Toronto on September 28 to 600
people, including many of Toronto's spiritual leaders. The film
was almost immediately selected for a special program of Canada
's best films to be presented to all of Canada 's 8th and 9th graders!
Tina is encouraging people to organize events in their own community
to show the film, which can be projected at any digitally equipped
theater. The film tells the story of Tina's journey of recovery
from a nearly fatal accident, inspired by Mevlana and a growing
uderstanding of his message. Included are meetings with Coleman
Barks, Andrew Harvey, Nadir Khalili and Kabir and Camille. This
film can be counted on to touch hearts and support a sense of interfaith
respect as well as to express the beauty of Rumi's teaching in
all its universality and depth. Sponsored events could become a
community fund-raising event in partnership with Tina's Visonary
Media. Visit: http://www.rumi-turningecstatic.com/
