In celebration of the 800th Birthday of Sufi Mystic and Poet - Mevlana Jelalludin Rumi , UNESCO officially declared 2007 "The International Year of Rumi."

Festivities took place throughout the entire year in the countries to which Rumi is accredited : Afghanistan, Persia (Iran) and Turkey , as well as around the globe.

"Rumi - Turning Ecstatic..." was featured at many of these live events. It has played in over 15 countries to date, including a special invite to the United Nations Headquarters , New York City.

TIME Magazine named RUMI "Mystic of the Century."

His writing continues to be a profound and far reaching voice of Peace from within the Islamic world,building bridges of dialogue, respect and tolerance between races, creeds and cultures. He is still the best selling poet in the English language today, outselling Shakespeare for the past 2 decades.
